WH40K Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus Announced

Yet another Warhammer 40,000 videogame has been announced this week. Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus is a new turn-based strategy game that’s meant to be an adaptation of the old Titan Legions table-top game from Games Workshop.

The Grimdark has it’s share of giant death-machines, with the Imperium’s version being called ‘Titans’, which is what you get to control in this new game. According to the blurb on the game's official website:

Available soon on Steam Early Access, Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus features a Skirmish mode against an AI opponent for single-player and an online multi-player mode. Upon full release, the game will also offer an exciting single-player campaign.

Adeptus Titanicus was a table-top set originally released in 1988 and was the debut appearance of the giant death robots. It would later get re-released as ‘Titan Legions’ in 1994, which was part of Games Workshop’s 6mm ‘Epic’ format that scaled down the models so players could field large, planet conquering armies.

Fun Fact: The table-top game is due to be re-release as new product set during the 30K era, again called ‘Adeptus Titanicus’. This new PC game is definitely set during the 40K universe. Looking at the logo, it’s probably an official license of the old table-top set, rather than the new set.

Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus is being developed by Membraine Studios, and the game’s Steam page is already live. The Early Access is due to start “soon”.
