We got a little distracted dropping bombs of pure, unfiltered wisdom this week – whether we were telling you The Truth(TM) about the best turn-based strategy games or giving you the low-down on which Rome 2 dlcs were worth buying, a lot of 100% facts have been shared about lately, and not as much news.

Meanwhile, in the world the strategy gaming…

Humble Strategy Bundle

At the time of writing, there’s still five days left to grab Humble’s latest ‘Strategy Bundle’, where they’re offering exactly $224 worth of games for $12.

IF you pay only a single dollar, you can get your mits on Dungeon of the Endless, the complete Endless Space Collection, Planetary Annihilation: Titans and the ‘Wildlife Cam Patterns’ cosmetic DLC for Company of Heroes 2. That last one will see its proceeds go to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Charity.

If you’re feeling flush and can afford $6.93, you can then get your hands on the Empire: Total War collection, Endless Legend (which happens to be one of the best modern TBS games around), the Tempest DLC for Endless Legend, and a voucher for 66% off the usual price for Total War: Warhammer.

Picking up Total War: Warhammer on the cheap? You might interested in knowing about what DLC is available.

Finally, if you pony up and pay the full $12, you can get Endless Space 2 and Tooth and Tail. Extra bonuses include a 10% off your first month of a Humble Monthly subscription, and the Tooth and Tail soundtrack. So far, 149,846 bundles have been sold.

Empires Apart Patched to 1.7

Age of Empires challenger Empires Apart has been getting some TLC since it launched last month. Two patches bring the current version to 1.1.7, and Version 1.2 is already in beta. Player reaction to the game seems to have cooled since launch, with the Steam sitting at 62% ‘Mixed’, which is a shame.

Our own Marcello Perricone recognised the games shortcomings but found it an all-round refreshing take on a style of games that has been lacking new blood as of late.

Giant Slayers coming to Total War: Warhammer II

The upcoming May patch for Total War: Warhammer II is due to add the Norsca faction to the ‘Mortal Empires’ mega-campaign, but the Dwarfs are also getting some love.

Creative Assembly tweeted that Giant Slayers will be a new unit that will be added to the Dawi roster – they wield Great Axes, which are great for armour penetrations, and being ‘slayers’ means they get bonuses against ‘Large’ units.

The Total War studio also teased that further changes are coming for the Dwarfs as well.

Scythe Beta

Scythe is a great table-top board game that’s getting a digital edition thanks to the all-father that is Asmodee Digital.

Turns out, there’s a free steam beta for the game available right now, and all you need to do to get on it is register for an account on the Asmodee Digital official website. You can get a steam key by going to your profile, then finding the ‘Beta Tests’ tab.

The Beta is windows-only and will run until May 2nd.

Banner Saga 3 Release Date

Stoic have announced the official release date for the final chapter in their epic, Norse-inspired tactical RPG. In a first for the series, Banner Saga 3 will be releasing across multiple platforms at once, with PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch all joining in.

BS3 DredgePack

Those looking to finish the story of Banners Saga can do so on July 24th, 2018.

The official steam page is live and updated with all the relevant information, including what the pre-order bonus entails. Anyone pre-purchasing on PC or Mac gets the ‘Dredge Ally Pack’.
