Command & Conquer AND Command & Conquer Red Alert Remastered Drop in June

In this current trend of nostalgic remakes, I think it’s fair to say the Command & Conquer remasters are up there with Warcraft 3 in terms of levels of anticipation. Sadly, we all know how Warcraft 3 turned out but so far EA and Petroglyph have been pretty sensible in terms of how they’ve been handling communication around the upcoming remasters for these RTS classics.

What I was almost about to take bets on is which game we’d get first - Command & Conquer, or Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Turns out we’ll be getting both at the same time:

The Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection will be releasing on June 5th, 2020. Not only are we getting both original C&C games, but the collection will also come with the expansions as well - The Cover Operations for C&C, and Counterstrike plus The Aftermath for Red Alert.

It will be coming to Origin (as well Origin Access Premier subscriptions) and Steam. The basic digital edition will cost $19.99 but there are also two super-duper limited run physical editions available for pre-order until April 10th. You can find details on those here.

What little we’ve seen of the two remasters is looking pretty sharp right now, and there’s a full feature list you can look at on EA’s official site for the project. They’ve even managed to upscale the old FMV cutscenes, which is nice.

We’ve all been burned by recent remaster attempts, so I suspect a degree of caution is warranted here but so far things are looking ok. We’ll keep our eyes turned towards June when we get our hands on these RTS legends.
