Empire of Sin has been pushed back to the fall

The 1920s crime-'em-up Empire of Sin has seen its release date pushed back into the fall. A Romero Games collaboration with Paradox Interactive, Empire of Sin was originally slated for launch this spring, but the studio says it needs a bit more time to get this one right.

"The challenges in making a game like no-one has made before is exactly that - making a game no-one has made before," Brenda Romero says in her announcement. "It takes time to get everything right and presents us with some unique opportunities. I am grateful we are taking the additional time to polish."

"We at Paradox interactive, along with our partners at Romero Games, have an ambitious vision for Empire of Sin and decided together that more development time is needed," said Paradox CEO Ebba Ljungerud. "This will allow us to deliver the game that our community deserves and meets our standards."

We've been itching to get our hands on Empire of Sin since it was announced back in June. Editor Joe had a chance to discuss the game with Romero at last year's Gamescom, and came away pretty impressed at the tech on display in the Prohibition-meets-XCOM tactical game.

Paradox and Romero Games haven't committed to a specific release date for Empire of Sin - they've said only that it'll be coming out some time this fall.
