Grab all of Star Control and Galactic Civilizations III for $13 in Humble's new bundle

Humble's new bundle arrived a few days ago, and as always, it is dressed to impress. Just in time too, as we were running out of strategy games to play. This time they are offering the Humble Stardock Strategy Bundle, presenting a great selection of games from Stardock, the fine purveyor of classic sci-fi strategy.

So if you're on the lookout for something to play, and like us, always on the lookout for a deal, this bundle offers a variety of tiers which will let you both support great games, and give a little something to chosen charity. These are the games that will be up for grabs over the next couple of weeks:

Tier 1 - Pay at least £1 to unlock

This is Humble's most basic tier, and while it may be worth going a little higher, this will still get you a couple of decent games:

Sorcerer King: Rivals - This is a fantasy 4x RPG in which you play as a hero trying to defeat the sorcerer king, choosing to oust him once and for all, or to take his place. It's fairly standard fare, but it has eight civilisations to play as, locations to discover, and even a little map editor for you to play around with. Plenty of potential playtime for your buck.

Dead Man's DrawThe incredibly cool sounding Dead Man's Draw is a smart little card game, focused around making simple yet impactful decisions. It could be compared to card crawl, with elements of match 3 RPG. Essentially you take turns drawing cards, looking to gain the most power, and trying to match symbols to produce the desired effect. It's a proven formula, which is surprisingly addictive.

Tier 2 - Pay above the average (currently £8.19)

This tier is where you'll find Galactic Civilizations 3, and is a bit meatier, getting you a lot more content for your money:

Galactic Civilizations 3If Stardock had a magnum opus series, this would probably be it. Galactic Civilizations 3 sees you shape the destiny of dozens of unique races, building a society and legacy that will stand the test of time. Each game world is unique, and allows you to play against 16 to 100 opponents, as you try to claim your place in the galaxy through technology, diplomacy, and espionage. It wouldn't be a stretch to call Galactic Civilizations 3, the gold standard of sci-fi 4x.

Galactic Civilizations 3 DLCThis tier also gives you access to Mega Events, Retribution, and Crusade, three of the games expansion packs. These add even more depth to the game, with new civilizations, ships, technologies, and more in-game events to make each playthrough especially unique.

Tier 3 - Pay at least £10.50

This tier will get you another Galactic Civilizations 3 DLC, as well as every Star Control game, and that's a lot of game:

Star Control Origins - The most recent entry in the Star Control roleplaying series sees you commanding an exploration ship from earth as you explore strange planets and make contact with alien species. It's got a touch of No Man's Sky and Outer Wilds to it.

Star Control I & II - Though neither game has aged particularly well in some regards, Star Control I & II are still wonderful space exploration games, with a great deal of humour and heart.

Star Control III - This is the middle child of the series, and offers much of what the previous games did, more space-based action and plot in the Star Control series.

This bundle will end on the 21st of April. Strategy Gamer is a Humble Affiliate.
