The next Civ 6 expansion could be dropping in Feb next year

Our eagle eyed compatriots over at PCGN have spotted some rumours that have been flying around the web-o-sphere. Originating on 4Chan, supposedly 'leaked' images of some new upcoming Civilization VI content have hit Reddit.

The images appear to be low-res photos of physical print-outs showing off new in-game content. There are two  images of a new Leader – who’s been identified as probably being Polynesian – and a third image shows three new sea-based districts, one of which looks like an oil rig.

Two images show the ‘Civilization VI’ branding, while one of them has the subtitle ‘Vesuvius’, which is what’s currently being taken as the name for the new expansion/DLC.

A user over on the Civfanatics forum also noted that 2K/Firaxis have been updating all of the QA test branches, which now include an “unknown” DLC.

The final bit of information connected to this is a release date, which is slated to be February 14th, 2019.

At the moment, there’s been no official word from 2K or the developers, and no other information has come to light, so this is all very much “unverified” for now.

We’ll let you know if we hear anything else.
