Teamfight Tactics Heads to Mobile Tomorrow

Riot’s own take on the Auto Battler phenomenon, Teamfight Tactics, has arguably entered 2020 as the current champion in the so-called ‘Auto Chess Wars’, and it looks to solidify its ranking with the planned expansion to mobile tomorrow.

From March 19th, 2020, Teamfight Tactics will be available to download and play via the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The mobile and PC versions of the game will be fully cross-compatible, and Battle Pass progression will also carry between both versions as well, bringing it in line with Valve’s DOTA Underlords.

This new mobile release will also coincide with the deployment of the ‘Galaxies’ update, which brings with it a new set of space/sci-fi themed champions, synergies and arenas with which to do battle. You can watch the official developer vlog on the changes below:

Teamfight Tactics has proven the most agile of all the Auto-Battlers so far, recognising early that a growing stable of champions/pieces will get exponentially harder to manage and balance over time. They’re going with themed ‘sets’ for the moment, which essentially swaps out large chunks of the pool in favour of brand new pieces and synergies. By comparison, if you’ve been following the development of ‘OG’ Auto Chess, developer Drodo has been drip-feeding new pieces into the pool over time.
