Necromunda: Underhive Wars will be the first time Games Workshop’s iconic gang-warfare game has been adapted into a videogame. Since its announcement last year we’ve not heard much about it, but today we’ve been handed a new trailer, and some new gameplay information.

Two of the game’s gangs have been revealed so far – The Eschers, and all-female group who’ve made their name via the drug trade, and the Goliaths, hulking warriors that respect strength and take strength-enhancing drugs. Which were probably sold to them by the Eschers.

The update also mentions highly customisable loadouts and appearances for every member of your gang. You can unlock skills, traits, weapons and visual goodies. Injuries and deaths are reported to be permanent, and you can set traps for your enemies in the tactical battles. The battle environments are also supposed to be very 'vertical' offering high-ground advantages.

Finally, there’s a ‘Conquest Mode’, which is a campaign system with familiar 4X mechanics that are lodged between the turn-based tactical battles. You can fight over key territory and take control of Hive Primus in an “endless campaign”.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars will be releasing onto PC, Playstation 4 & Xbox One, although we don’t know when.
