Thrones of Britannia: A Total War Saga delayed by two weeks

Creative Assembly have just announced that they are delaying the release of Thrones of Britannia: A Total War Saga by a couple of weeks.

The first entry in the new series of Total War games that are meant to have a smaller, tighter scope was recently previewed by press, and it seems this latest round of feedback have convinced the team they need a little bit more time. From the official blog post:

We’ve been picking through those write-ups, videos and comments in search of criticism as well, as it helps give us a steer on what we could be doing better. The final weeks between now and launch – like any software project as it draws to its conclusion – are crucial to final quality, as they’re all about finding and squashing bugs, balancing things out, and adding polish. But there’s always more you can do, and in this case, we’ve decided to do just that.

The changes they want to work on include:

  • Quality of Life UI improvements
  • Campaign AI balancing
  • Generals appearance over time
  • Battle AI behaviour
  • Other Battle-related QoL improvements

Two works isn’t such a long time, in the grand scheme of things, and we’d rather these issues be fixed now than show up at release.

Thrones of Britannia is now due to release on May 3rd, 2018.
