Total War: Three Kingdom's 1.1 Update Enters Beta

Total War Three Kingdoms has been out for a fair few weeks now, and I think it’s safe to say this is a very successful new entry in the Total War franchise. No 38% ratings around here, no sir. Whether it’s the best one ever is, I suspect, a matter of personal taste, but there’s no question that it’s got a very solid design that’s leagues ahead of much of what’s come before, as our own review highlights.

It’s already had a couple of updates since release, but now Creative Assembly is gearing up for an official 1.1 patch that’ll be doing a larger sweep of tweaks and changes. It’s already in beta, if you want to test it out for yourself; instructions to do so:

  • Right-click on Total War: THREE KINGDOMS in your Steam library
  • Click Properties and click the Betas tab
  • In the drop-down menu, select the Update_beta option
  • Close the window and your build will automatically update

Major improvements include a big stability sweep, changes to Vassalisation to stop Yuan Shao dominating the field there and improved tutorials. Also, babies, and spectators to Duels to multiplayer matches can’t interfere any more.

You’ll want to go here for the full change-log.
