New Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC Announced - Warden & The Paunch

It seems rumours of the end of Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC were greatly exaggerated. We had thought that 2019’s stint of expansions would be it as the studio gears up for Warhammer 3, but it seems Creative Assembly still has some Legendary Lords left to roll out to fans by the end of the month.

The latest Lords’ pack - The Warden & The Paunch (What is a Paunch?-ED) adds in new heroes for the Greenskins and the High Elves, as well as a new campaign thread that will feature a rivalry to end all rivalries, as well as the fate of the 'fabled' Kingdom of Yvresse.

Warlord Grom 'the Paunch' is the new Greenskin Legendary Lord, who is apparently the only member of his kind to successfully invade the High Elves’ home of Ulthuan. Opposing him is 'The Warden' Eltharion, Prince of Yvresse. He has a Griffon named Stormwing. These lords will be available in the Eye of the Vortex and the Mortal Empires campaign, although like other recent Lords packs they have their own unique campaign narrative that's separate from the Vortex quest.

The new pack also comes with fantastic and bombastic new units, as is Warhammer’s style. War Lions, amirite?

New Total War: Warhammer 2 Free Content

As well as the above DLC pack, Creative Assembly will also be rolling out some free content as well that's due to drop at the same time. A new Legendary Lord - Prince Imrik of Caledor - will be made available for everyone at no cost. He’s known as the ‘Lord of the Dragons’, so that sounds fun.

There will also be the free ‘Old World’ Patch that will land at the same time. This update will largely focus on quality of life improvements for all Greenskin factions, including the WAAAGH! Mechanic. You can read more about this and the above in the official FAQ.

The Warlord & The Paunch will be released on Thursday. May 21st and will cost £6.99/$8.99/€8.99.
