Triumph Studios was acquired by Paradox Interactive as a new 'in-house' studio earlier this year. The Netherlands-based company is best known for their Age of Wonders series and Overlord.

At this year's Paradox Convention, it was finally revealed what Triumph Studios first game under Paradox will be: Age of Wonders: Planetfall.

The turn-based 4X series has been taken to a sci-fi post-apocalyptic setting, where players take control of races emerging amongst the ruins of a shattered Galaxy. Each play-through sees your faction landing on a new, procedurally generated planet where you must secure your foot-hold, expand your territory, and discover the history of this fallen universe. You'll encounter other races a long the way, and it's up to you whether you fight them, or try and work together.

  • Strategic Turn-Based Sci-Fi Combat - Perfect your combat strategy in intense turn-based battles that offer tactical challenges, a large cast of races, units with customizable weapons, and destructible environments.
  • Discover a Rich Science Fiction World - Uncover the history of the fallen galactic empire as you explore lush landscapes, and experience the emergent story. Encounter NPC factions and rival houses, and discover hidden technologies that can strengthen your society and give you advantage over enemies.
  • Planetary Empire Building - Create your own unique House, and build prosperous colonies through economic specializations of planetary sectors and governing doctrines.
  • Multiple Paths to Victory - Achieve your end goals through conquest, diplomacy or doomsday technologies. Engrossing options with NPC factions and rival Houses won’t make the decisions easy!

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is scheduled for a 2019 release on both PC and Consoles.
