<r>I split my time these days between strategy games and flight sims, but strategy & wargames remain my old love. Here goes my list:<br/> 1) EUIV (ca 450 hrs so far) - the best polished and balanced of Paradox Grand strategy games. I love how playing various countries feels different, I love the...

I used to play Attila with Fall of the Eagles + Europa Perdita, but to be honest, none of these mods can be compared to DeI for Rome TW II. Ancient Empires looks great but I doubt it will ever be fully finished.

<t>I also play hybrid option. Big battles - > export to FOG2, minor or one sided engagements - Option 2. Reminds me the way I used to play Rome Total War, with auto resolving all unimportant battles.<br/> I have the same observations regarding unit balance. Heavy cavalry - underpowered, Pre-Marian L...

Rome wasn't built in a day. We have been waiting for too long for a contender to shake things up a little bit in the genre. I will be definitely playing this game.

My personal list: 1) Field of Glory Empires - a mix of grand strategy and tactical battles (when coupled with FoG II, which is a great game in itself) 2) Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865) - again, tactical battles and strategic layer, a combination I'm always fond of. 3) Strategic Command: ...

<t>I don't play this game anymore for various reasons, but my vote goes to Divide et Impera. That's the best mod in terms of historical accuracy. One can feel it's a labour of love of history buffs. It brings so many new features (e.g.population system, supply system) which make the game a lot more ...

As far as I remember, there was an option to slow down game speed in the previous part. Did they take it away in the sequel ?

<t>I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm also curious how it compares to Imperator Rome. My view is that, it's going to be hard for them to beat Imperator in terms of grand strategy, but what may tip the scale on their favor, are these FoG II battles. <br/> Successful implementation of this s...

<r>I play this game few times every week and even though I'm not an expert by any means I would suggest everyone, who wants to start playing this game: don't let the initial difficulties discourage you. There are some really helpful YT videos made by Requiem (The Air Combat Library) which describe b...
