Vlad Von Carstein died 400 years before Karl Franz was born. The games have never used a fixed point in the timeline.

Warhammer 3 for me is big doubt, Warhammer 2 is so big and kind bloated right now and I think the game is in the right spot, CA had a lot problem integrating Warhammer 1 and 2 Mortal EMpires and they only really fixed it last december with the turn timer patch, so I hope CA is taking more time to make the combined campaign work from the start, and the rebalance of the factions don't take too much time to be implemented. But other option I think it's possible is that they give up trying to make a big campaign with the 3 games and make the third one in the Mortal Realms settings.
